A national standards body

The national standard for the money conversation in care.

Every patient deserves a payment conversation that is honest, compliant, and free of pressure or fraud — in every practice, in every jurisdiction. NSPPP sets the standard, certifies the experts, and verifies the proof.

Why NSPPP exists

The payment side of care has no referee.

Lenders answer to financial regulators. Card networks enforce their own rules. But the practice in the middle — where treatment costs, financing options, and payment decisions are actually discussed — has never had a national conduct standard. Federal consumer-protection law and the divergent rules of 51 jurisdictions land on the front desk, with no common playbook. NSPPP fills that gap.

01 — STANDARDS

We write the standard

One national rulebook for patient payment protection — the money conversation, financing conduct, card acceptance, fraud prevention, refunds, and records — with an overlay for each of the 51 jurisdictions and each field of care. Published and free to read.

02 — CERTIFICATION

We certify the experts

The Certified Patient Payment Expert (CPPE™) — trained, examined, background-screened, and renewed annually. The standard of practice: two certified experts per practice, so coverage never lapses.

03 — VERIFICATION

We verify the proof

Independent NSPPP Certified Auditors confirm each year that a practice can produce the evidence behind its payment conduct — and the public registry shows who holds current certification and audit status.

04 — PARTNERSHIP

We power the associations

State and specialty associations adopt the program for their members under their own name, with NSPPP operating everything behind it — one national standard, delivered through the organizations providers already trust.
